"With over 15 years of experience as a makeup artist specializing in events and photoshoots, my passion for beauty runs deep. I draw inspiration from my grandmother, a talented beautician in the Philippines during the late 1950s. Although she couldn’t pursue her career after immigrating to Canada, her artistry left a lasting impression on me, shaping my journey in the beauty industry.

Now, as a Lead Cosmetologist and Board of Advisor for the National Association of Lash Artists, I am passionate about empowering people to embrace their unique beauty. I encourage my clients to take charge of their beauty journey by learning personalized techniques rather than chasing trends. 

As a dedicated advocate for trauma-informed care, I champion safe and supportive practices within the industry by fostering an environment of learning and critical thinking at my spa. As a business owner and operator, sharing knowledge with my team is a priority. I believe in challenging my staff to think critically about the impact of beauty trends, as I’ve seen firsthand how these trends can influence a person’s confidence—both positively and negatively.

In 2021, I completed my first year of a bachelor’s degree in psychology and hope to continue my education very soon. My deep passion for understanding the human mind and behavior influences my everyday work. I strive to empower my team by integrating this knowledge into our approach, encouraging empathy, intentionality, and open dialogue. By doing so, we create a supportive environment that genuinely enhances our clients’ well-being and confidence."

 Kayla is known for her bubbly personality and her natural ability to make everyone feel warm, cared for, and truly valued. Her exceptional massage skills are a client favorite, whether in the treatment room or during our nail care services. With a nurturing touch and a genuine passion for her craft, Kayla ensures every experience is both relaxing and rejuvenating. 

 Kevin is the skilled SMP (Scalp Micropigmentation) Specialist at Elly and Amar Studio. Completing his certification in August 2024, Kevin’s journey into this transformative service is rooted in a unique and personal story. As a passionate breakdancer in his earlier years, he witnessed firsthand how frequent head spins and intense routines could lead to uneven hair patterns among dancers. This sparked a deep interest in finding effective, confidence-restoring solutions for hair-related concerns.

Through his training and dedication, Kevin has become proficient in SMP, a technique that offers innovative solutions for individuals facing hair loss, thinning, or other scalp issues. His empathetic approach and meticulous attention to detail ensure clients feel understood and cared for throughout their treatment journey. Kevin’s work is driven by his passion for helping people regain their confidence and feel empowered in their own skin.
