As a passionate and creative individual, my journey into the world of esthetics was inspired by an unexpected, life-changing moment. I’ve always been drawn to the arts, expressing myself through drawing, painting, music, and photography. However, I discovered my true calling at 17 when I became a young mom.

While navigating the challenges of motherhood, I came across a six-week esthetics course offered through HYPE (Helping Youth Pursue Education). From the moment I began learning about skincare and the beauty industry, I was captivated. The program sparked a passion I hadn’t experienced before, combining creativity with the ability to care for others.

Since graduating from a full esthetics program and completing my placement, I’ve spent over a decade perfecting my craft. My focus lies in delivering personalized skincare treatments tailored to each client’s unique needs. With every service, I strive to create transformative, rejuvenating experiences that leave my clients feeling empowered and beautiful in their own skin.

Beyond my work with clients, I am deeply committed to mentoring aspiring estheticians and beauty professionals. My teaching philosophy is rooted in understanding the “why” behind every technique, fostering creativity, and emphasizing hands-on practice. I strive to create an empowering and supportive learning environment where students can build their skills and confidence to thrive in their careers.

Having experienced the challenges of entering the beauty industry firsthand, I understand how daunting it can be to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application. Many estheticians leave school feeling underprepared for the workplace, particularly in hands-on techniques like massage and facial artistry. My passion lies in closing that gap by offering personalized, practical training that equips students to navigate their career paths with clarity and confidence.

To me, mentorship is about more than teaching techniques—it’s about instilling core values like professionalism, empathy, and creativity. I want those I mentor to not only excel in their craft but also to understand the importance of building meaningful connections with their clients. These values have guided me throughout my journey, and I hope to inspire others to carry them forward as they shape their own paths in the beauty industry.

My initial interest in the beauty industry came from navigating the world of beauty as a teenager in the 2000s—a time when social media wasn’t around. I never saw girls like myself represented in mainstream beauty, so I had to experiment—learning from what I saw on TV, billboards, and most importantly, what I genuinely enjoyed on myself.

Through being self-taught and creatively experimental, my family recognized in me what I would later come to understand as a "beautypreneur". What started as doing makeup for family members’ special events quickly turned into a freelance career.  

At 21, I took a leap into cosmetology school, thinking it was the natural next step, only to realize that traditional, institutionalized teachings weren’t for me. I’ve always been creatively curious, thriving in unconventional learning spaces—just as an artist does. 

At 24, I took a leap and moved from Winnipeg to Toronto, knowing that it was the mecca in Canada for testing out your passion.  Over the next decade, I committed myself to the craft—honing my expertise, listening deeply to my clients, and prioritizing artistry over industry pressure. When the pandemic hit and I could no longer physically practice, I pivoted toward another passion: human behavior and psychology, pursuing my bachelor’s degree while navigating the uncertainty of the beauty industry. 

I became an independent contractor, unsure where the aftermath of the pandemic would take me—until I was presented with the biggest challenge of my career: the opportunity to take over an existing spa, an opportunity I didn’t feel "ready" for in a traditional sense.

I lacked the financial capital and business resources I thought were necessary—but what I did have was a knack for figuring it out. That instinct, combined with years of hands-on experience and deep client understanding, carried me through the biggest leap of my career.

Now, as a mentor, I want to bridge the gap between beauty education and real-world experience. The industry doesn’t always equip us with the resources we need to truly thrive, and I know firsthand how overwhelming it can be to carve your own path. My mentorship isn’t about following industry formulas or chasing trends—it’s about helping you build an authentic, sustainable career that aligns with your unique strengths and vision.
